Anybody But Bloomberg: "I'd Lose as a Democrat"
Mayor Bloomberg, a lifelong Democrat who conveniently switched parties in 2001 to run as a nominal (i.e., fraudulent) Republican, acknowledged in an off-the-cuff remark, “Today if I became a Democrat, I’d never get through the Democratic primary.”
True, of course — there are plenty of Democrats in New York City far more liberal than even Bloomberg.
Still, how does that change the fact that, by remaining a Republican, Bloomberg is also remaining a, um, fraud?
He could buy the Liberal Party or some other party’s nomination.
Or he could — gasp! — run as an independent.
He certainly can afford it — he has said that he is prepared to spend $100 million of his own money to buy re-election.
Would just a little intellectual honesty — just the tiniest morsel — be too much to ask from this man?
