Two quick pass-alongs concerning the Religion of Peace:

ITEM: The only thing worse than Red State rednecks are Red Crescent rednecks –

More than two dozen gay Arab men — arrested at what police called a mass homosexual wedding — could face government-ordered hormone treatments, five years in jail and a lashing, authorities said Saturday.

The men are likely to be tried under Muslim law on charges related to adultery and prostitution, said Interior Ministry spokesman Issam Azouri.

“There will be no room for homosexual … acts in the UAE,” [minister of justice and Islamic affairs] Al Dhahiri was quoted as saying in the Dubai-based Khaleej Times newspaper.

MY TAKE: “Minister of justice and Islamic affairs”? That has to be a new record for most obnoxious oxymoron ever.

ITEM: As bad as the barbarian goat herders of the UAE are, it could be worse –

Two persons alleged to be homosexuals face the death penalty in Katsina [Nigeria] if convicted of sodomy by a Sharia Court.

Kabir Yusuf, 40, and Usman Sani, 18, were arrested on June 19 in a public toilet near the court in Katsina metropolis.

Police claim they confessed to having had sex together, a crime punishable by being stoned to death.

Both of them have denied the charge and asked to be allowed to swear an oath on the Koran that they did not commit sodomy.

On its part, the prosecution has been unable to produce a witness to prove they were engaged in any sexual act.

MY TAKE: Like I said “justice” and “Islamic affairs” never, ever belong in the same sentence. (Hat tip to CrimLaw.)
