You know, I'm glad you posted this...

Since I'm so disillusioned with basically everyone in Washington right now, regardless of party, I watched Meet The Press Sunday to check out this fancy new candidate that's supposed to be our political messiah.

I went into the show somewhat skeptically, humming "We Don't Need Another Hero", but I watched with an open mind.

Then, my eyebrow began to raise in recognition at this alleged breath-of-fresh-air candidate began to duck and weasel around questions just like his more experienced colleagues do every day. He wouldn't take a concrete stand on a single position.

"Next."

It's pretty irrelevant anyway. The only Democrats who will ever again be elected to the White House are Democrats who can either reliably deliver a few current battleground states, or put a few currently-Republican states into play. And short of a nuclear detonation over Chicago sometime in the next couple of years, Illinois isn't either of those and won't be in the foreseeable future.

Besides...time in the Senate is a pretty poor source of "qualification" for executive office.
