As an elementary school teacher in FL, I can tll you that gang problems can get down to the lowest grades and it is very sad. Without you nor I realizing it, Tigger could perhaps mean that she is willing o commit some act of prostitution or sell certain drugs. Schools make rules for a reason, nott to make children miserable. Saftey is our top worry. We worry for your children and ourselves and our families.

Regarding the ban on everything but clip-on ties, wouldn't the clip-on still pose the same risk of interfering with science class (getting in the way of flames, I assume)? Why not do away with the ties altogether. That seems a much more rational approach.

She explains that school uniform policies must allow parents to exempt their children from compliance, which has not been an option at Redwood Middle School.
What is the point of a school uniform if parents can opt their children out of it?

While the Tigger socks was the better example for mainstream media coverage, the better plaintiffs are the two cited for wearing a 'Jesus Freak' t-shirt and a pink breast cancer ribbon. I can't see any way to avoid relating those actions to expressive conduct.
