On Priorities
So let me see if I understand this correctly:
China, in connection with the Beijing Olympics, violates free speech rights, violates free press rights, violates religious rights, violates property rights, banishes frail old women to “re-education camps,” muzzles the Internet (including — gasp! — iTunes), detains foreigners (including Americans), etc., etc., etc.
And almost nobody can be bothered to give even half a damn.
But report that a little girl was replaced with a lip-syncher because those same autocrats deemed her “not cute enough,” or that maybe, just maybe, a gymnast is 14 and not 16, and suddenly the whole world is in an anti-China lather.
Some people have some seriously screwed up priorities.
