		<description>Without even reading the piece, I was going to guess that the couple in Sacramento was complaining because they&#039;re whiny little jerks all up in arms about gay marriage. But now that I&#039;ve read it, I&#039;m with them. They literally would have been happy writing &quot;Bride&quot; and &quot;Groom&quot; in the signature boxes on the license, but some county bureaucrat just couldn&#039;t let them get away with that.

After years of reassuring skittish heterosexuals that allowing same-sex marriage would not change traditional marriage, trust the government of California to screw that up for &lt;i&gt;absolutely no reason&lt;/i&gt;.

This is the dreary, soul-deadening side of having the government involved in a civil rights matter. They just can&#039;t leave stuff alone.</description>
