But now that I've read it, I'm with them. They literally would have been happy writing "Bride" and "Groom" in the signature boxes on the license, but some county bureaucrat just couldn't let them get away with that. After years of reassuring skittish heterosexuals that allowing same-sex marriage would not change traditional marriage, trust the government of California to screw that up for <i>absolutely no reason</i>. This is the dreary, soul-deadening side of having the government involved in a civil rights matter. They just can't leave stuff alone.
