Still working on a costume for Diamond, but at least her trick-or-treat bag is ready:

I’ve never been able to conclusively determine whether her obsession with laundry derives from the warmth of the clothes or the drier-sheet scent. Thoughts?

I don't know but our cats are the same way with laundry.

My cats are the same way, but I think it has to do with the laundry bag. They just need to be in it for some reason.
However, when I'm trying to fold my laundry and lay it out on my bed before putting it away, then they need to lay down on one pile or another. That part, I think, probably does have to do with the warmth.
Diamond looks so comfortable. Be sure to put up more pictures once you get her into her costume.

Why settle for one when you can have both?
I'm guessing warmth though. The old rule of "if a human can smell it, it's probably overpowering to a dog/cat".

Scent does strange things to a dog. Without fail, if I use carpet powder to vacuum, the next morning I will wake up to find Tiny has left me a little brown present on the carpet.

One of my cats is notorious for carrying around one of my socks. She'll carry it into the living room, drop it, and announce to everyone that she did it. I think it has to do with the fact that my scent is on the sock, and therefor is an extension of me. She is the most attached to me as I have had her the longest.
