  1. I love how the New York Times begins its sales pitch on the electric bill tax:

    … For the typical New York City apartment dweller, it amounts to $1.08 a month, barely enough for a cup of coffee.

    Oh, so that makes it okay. I wonder if they don't understand – or just won't acknowledge – the cumulative effect of all the "it's just $1.08" taxes politicians like to impose.

  3. "Just a cup of coffee", eh? Well, I think I'd be quite bothered having a cup of my coffee at the local Mapco here in Nashville taken out of my hands to build ANYthing for the folks in Memphis or Knoxville or wherever. They want it, let them generate the revenue for it.
