- Supposedly “modern” Indonesia censors the two “gay” Oscar speeches. Just another day among the barbarian goatherders. http://snipr.com/cm62q #
- It’s not bigotry, but “a responsibility to take the sensitivities and guidelines of all our markets into consideration.” http://is.gd/kNgO #
- Am I reading the BBC or Swift? Oregon legislature embroiled in fierce (i.e., rent-seeking) debate over state berry. http://snipr.com/cm6fw #
- Re: Hawaiian anti-gay bigotry — Keep in mind that both the Catholics and Mormons had a major missionary presence there (LDS still does). #

- Dang — Ron Paul’s actually talking sense. Go figure. #
- SCOTUS decides Summum case: City can pick and choose which religious displays to put in public parks. Depressing but not surprising. #
- Alito suggests that the “meaning” of a Ten Commandments monument can be “vague” the same way as the Lennon “Imagine” marker. Um, no. C’mon. #
- Justice Alito obviously doesn’t blog: “Speakers, no matter how long-winded, eventually come to the end of their remarks…” Heh.
# - Scalia, ever the theocrat, again insists that a government-sponsored Decalogue isn’t a 1st Amendment violation. No country for old atheists. #
- How retarded do you have to be to think that the way to combat temporary defacement is with permanent defacement? http://snipr.com/cn2k4 #
- Call me a bad libertarian, but I’ve decided to file formal complaints with NYC & NYS Consumer Affairs over the 5-Ounce Tuna Can Scandal. #
- (Specifically, that the supermarkets have not adjusted their unit pricing shelf labels despite the can size being reduced over a month ago.) #
- Bloomberg to GOP: “Drop Dead. P.S. Can I run as a Republican again?” He never runs out of new ways to stay a prick. http://snipr.com/cnaeb #
- A young Twitterer I follow was thrown out of his home by his parents for being gay. In America in the 21st Century? Maybe Jindal’s America. #
- One-sided story, but supposedly Xbox Live deleted a gamer’s account because her profile had the word “lesbian”- http://tinyurl.com/cc48g8 #

Hello.
Fascinating blog here, very well researched and informative.
A few serious questions, if I may:
Do you think that the recent massive successes of China indicate that some elements of central planning can be beneficial?
Do you think intelligence should be a greater criteria for leadership positions?
How do you respond to the suggestion that a large percentage of people are dumb, and without institutions such as Social Security there would be a lot of people suffering due to poor planning?
I'm curious; feel free to tell me to shove it if those questions require too long of an answer.
